Lawn care

Mowing, fertilizing, watering, weed and pest control are techniques that, when done properly, can contribute to maintain a healthy lawn. But sometimes a lawn needs some extra TLC in the form of dethatching, aeration or even a full restoration to keep it looking green and gorgeous.

There are several ways to restore a lawn that has been destroyed by drought or disease, such as sod installation, overseeding, hydroseeding, aeration and dry seed.

  • Sodding: The fastest way to get and enjoy a new lawn, which consists of laying rolls or slabs of sod on the ground.

  • Overseeding: This works best when there are bare patches that need to be filled in an otherwise healthy lawn.

  • Hydroseeding: This is done by preparing a mix of grass seed, fertilizer, mulch and water in a large tank and spraying it with a discharge nozzle. Works best on large areas and inaccesible slopes.

  • Dry seed: Probably the most common way to restore a lawn, and it works best if the existing lawn is fully dethatched and aerated first, in order to spread new loam or compost, the seed, and the fertilizer.
